Compression Science Names Celso Azevedo as CEO; Former DirectTV and SES/Astra Executive to Lead Growth of Next-Generation Video Encoding Technology Company.

Prior to this Azevedo was the senior vice president at DirectTV International at Hughes Electronics where he played a key role in the growth of DirectTV Latin America Latin America, the Spanish-speaking, Portuguese-speaking, and French-speaking countries (except Canada) of North America, South America, Central America, and the West Indies.  and DirecTV Japan. Before this, Azevedo served as chairman of the management committee of SES/Astra, where he helped lead the company from start-up to its position as the leader in the burgeoning European direct-to-home satellite television business. Azevedo's early career included senior positions at the International Telecommunications Union See ITU.
