Compiere Completes Relocation to Silicon Valley.

Leading open source ERP and CRM provider to hire staff from technology-rich region

SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- Compiere, Inc., the premier provider of open source business applications, today announced that it has completed the move of its principal headquarters from Portland, Ore. to Santa Clara, Calif. This follows Compiere's recent announcement that it secured $6 million in its first round of venture capital funding from New Enterprise Associates. The move to Silicon Valley is central to Compiere's growth strategy to build out its worldwide infrastructure in order to better support its global partner network of nearly 100 firms.

A significant draw to the region includes a highly-educated workforce with expertise in both open source and traditional proprietary business application software. Compiere has launched an aggressive hiring campaign with the goal of recruiting top talent in both of these respective fields as the company's integrated ERP and CRM application is built and deployed using an open source model. The Compiere ERP & CRM solution is used worldwide by small to medium enterprises and large corporations across a variety of industries including retail, logistics, distribution, manufacturing and professional services. Compiere initially made its open source application available for downloading over the Internet in 2001. Since then, the application has been downloaded more than a million times.

Following its move, Compiere will be holding a partner conference with a multi-faceted agenda for existing partner companies to attend educational breakout sessions and focused small-group workshops that deal with industry issues and business processes.
