Compex debuts the FreedomLine PnP Combo Ethernet adapter; premium Ethernet adapter is worry-free and Windows 95-compatible.

ANAHEIM, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 6, 1995--Compex Inc., a leading manufacturer of Ethernet networking hardware Networking hardware typically refers to equipment facilitating the use of a computer network. Typically, this includes routers, switches, access points, network interface cards and other related hardware. , Monday announced the new Compex FreedomLine(tm) PnP Combo Ethernet adapter The Ethernet hardware required to attach to an Ethernet network. It typically resides on an expansion board, but is sometimes built into the motherboard. An Ethernet adapter is required in each client and server. See Ethernet and network adapter.  for the ISA bus.

The PnP Combo is the latest addition to Compex's premium FreedomLine series of advanced high-performance Ethernet 10Base-T interface cards that offer disk-free, jumper-free and worry-free operation. Currently shipping, the Compex FreedomLine PnP Combo has a suggested selling price of $64.99 for a single unit, $299.99 for a five-pack, $1,179.99 for a 20-pack and $3,299.99 for a 60-pack.

"The Compex FreedomLine PnP Combo continues our design commitment to diskless, jumper-less and worry-free operations. This commitment is supported by a quality assurance process that fully tests each card with live network traffic," said Woody Hale, president of Compex.

"The Compex FreedomLine PnP Combo is well suited for user environments where system management resources are limited and buyers are willing to invest in the latest installation and operations simplicity. And, customers will find that the aggressively priced, dual media Compex FreedomLine PnP Combo beats competitor products including those offering only single media."

The Compex FreedomLine PnP Combo is Novell and Microsoft Plug-and-Play certified and requires no user intervention when running systems with Windows 95 or PnP-compliant hardware. To ensure maximum ease-of-use for non-PnP users, the Compex FreedomLine PnP card includes Novell's Netware Client, a collection of drivers for major Network Operating Systems (NOS).

A one-step utility is also included to aid installation. The setup utility is capable of automatic configuration for easy setup or user-defined configuration for advanced users. In addition, the PnP card comes with TCP/IP TCP/IP
