CPA's newly elected interim Chairman James A. Tramuto noted that the group acted as an informal coalition during the recently adjourned legislative session which considered and passed S.B. 7 to restructure the state's electric industry. "We are pleased to have contributed to the shaping of the legislation that will open the electric industry to competition in January, 2002," said Tramuto. "The new, more formal structure of CPA will allow the group to continue to function effectively, providing timely and constructive input before the regulatory forums that will be implementing the legislation," he said.
