"We want to give our customers the absolute latest version of the Solaris operating environment with our SPARC-based systems, but our hardware development cycles were not always in synch with SunSoft's Solaris release schedule," says Al Belmonte, Manager of Developer Relations, Axil Computer. "As a member of this program, we can send our kernel or bootable driver binaries to SunSoft who verifies their compatibility with Solaris, publishes them on the Solaris CD and then releases them as a `Solaris hardware publication'. We ship our customers this latest Solaris hardware update produced by SunSoft, which includes our device driver and installation software."
