WITH the long-awaited, and indeed costly, report into the goings-on at MG Rover, stopping at pounds 16 million, a clear and disturbing picture now emerges of profiteering in an obscene way - venture capitalism and other practices which appear to be capitalising on government gullibility about large-scale industry and how it is run for profit, especially as it was secured for a fee of pounds 10 initially and then proceeded to become a "cash cow Cash Cow

Again we have double-dealing, double standards and frankly double bonuses!

John Hemmings MP, Labour member for Yardley, made representations to the Prime Minister and Department of Trade and Industry The Department of Trade and Industry was a United Kingdom government department which was disbanded with the announcement of the creation of the Department for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform on 28 June 2007[1].  as far back as 2001 about the consortium and doubts expressed about its inability to run this large blue-chip car company.

Governments must understand how these conglomerations and consortiums work and when they start to fail investigate more closely why and ask the management regime at the time what motivates profit sharing profit sharing, arrangement by which employees receive, in addition to their wages, a share of the net profits of a business. The purpose is to give them an incentive to increase their output through enhanced morale, less wasteful use of materials, better care of  and other inducements on a scale of this size.

More importantly the future of the loyal, hard-working workforce should be secured.

Clearly it's gone wrong for the workforce, except for this "Gang of Four".

If these individuals have any conscience left then they should do the right thing, make amends to the workforce, or should I say ex-workforce, of MG Rover through financial compensation and indeed apologise formally.

Do they think of livelihoods shattered, homes taken, and those who have committed suicide in despair? For the Phoenix Four, the old saying "what goes around comes around" will surprise them when they least expect it.
