Solutions, Inc., a leading provider of innovative knowledge-based network management solutions to enterprise and network service providers, announced today that VISTA Information Technologies, Inc. (VISTA) will join Compendia's Beta program.

VISTA, a leading provider of customer interaction solutions, will deploy Compendia's leading-edge fault isolation and resolution technology to increase network management efficiency for its enterprise clients. VISTA and its growing customer base stand to benefit from the Compendia deployment by reducing the time their staffs spend on network fault isolation and problem resolution by an estimated 50 percent.

"We feel Compendia had identified the one truly missing component in Network Management, SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) A widely used network monitoring and control protocol. Data are passed from SNMP agents, which are hardware and/or software processes reporting activity in each network device (hub, router, bridge, etc.  Trap analysis," said Steve Yager, VISTA's vice president for managed services An umbrella term for third-party monitoring and maintaining of computers, networks and software. The actual equipment may be inhouse or at the third-party's facilities, but the "managed" implies an ongoing effort; for example, making sure the equipment is running at a certain quality . "Compendia's solution could substantially improve the way network operations are performed. If developed correctly, it could eliminate much of the burden of fault surveillance and reduce the cost of managing networks and systems."

"VISTA is strengthening their focus on customized managed services by finding and implementing new technologies that can provide their customers with additional services and generate a demonstrable de·mon·stra·ble
