CompassLearning(TM) Growth Continues; Company Announces Executive Team Expansion.

SAN FRANCISCO -- CompassLearning, one of the nation's leading providers of K-12 education software, will announce tomorrow at the National School Boards Association's Annual Conference in San Francisco, an expanded executive team to meet the needs of the company's continuing growth.

New members of CompassLearning's executive team are Frank Ginac, Vice President of Development; Mark Hammer, Vice President of Marketing; Steven Frers, Vice President of Services; and Jill Lanman, Director of Human Resources. All four have joined the company's executive leadership team, which also includes Mike Humphrey, Executive Vice President of Sales, and Ann Henson, Vice President of Curriculum & Instruction.

As Vice President of Development, Ginac, who was formerly Executive Vice President of Products and Services at Scalable Software, LLC, will lead all of CompassLearning's product development efforts. Ginac, who comes to CompassLearning with more than 20 years of experience, has also held product development positions at companies including BroadJump, Dazel, Permeo Technologies and Dell.

CompassLearning has named Mark Hammer Vice President of Marketing. In his new role, Hammer will be responsible for all corporate marketing, advertising, product management, product marketing, market research and sales support. A former educator, Hammer has more than 20 years of experience in education and software marketing with marketing positions at companies including Green Mountain Energy Company, Sagebrush Corporation and COMPanion Corporation.

As Vice President of Services, Steven Frers will manage CompassLearning's customer service interactions. Prior to joining CompassLearning, Frers was Director of MIS for two of Xerox Corporation's business units. His background also includes more than 25 years of experience in the computing industry specializing in business and systems management, customer service, networking, software development, information security and corporate governance.

In her new position as Director of Human Resources, Jill Lanman will manage CompassLearning's human resources department. Lanman, who comes to CompassLearning with more than 20 years of experience, has held human resources positions at companies including GSD&M, Public Strategies, Motorola and Texas Instruments.

In conjunction with the company's executive staff additions, CompassLearning has also hired senior education advisor, Melanie Pritchett. Pritchett was formerly Director of Literacy Initiatives for the University of Texas's Institute for Public School Initiatives and Assistant Vice Chancellor for Educational System Alignment. Her responsibilities include linking product development, sales and service with state and federal policy issues and research.
