Totaling over 3 million square feet, the two towers comprising the complex--the 54-story Equitable Tower and 38-story Paine Webber Paine Webber and Company was an American stock brokerage firm that was acquired by the Swiss bank UBS AG in 2000. The company was founded in 1880 in Boston, Massachusetts, by William Alfred Paine and Wallace G. Webber.  Building in midtown Manhattan - will become the largest components of Compass - New York's growing portfolio.

Equitable Center pioneered the development of the West Side when it was completed in 1985. Since then, the 50-foot, arched windows in the building's crown have become well-recognized points on the New York skyline. The Center houses extensive public space and art work by worldfamous artists Roy Lichtenstein, Sol LeWitt Sol LeWitt (September 9, 1928 - April 8, 2007) was an American artist linked to various movements including conceptual art and minimalism. His media were predominantly painting, drawing, and structures (a term he preferred in opposition to sculpture).  and Thomas Hart Thomas Hart or Tom Hart may refer to:

  • Thomas N. Hart (1829-1927), mayor of Boston from 1889 to 1890 and from 1900 to 1902.
 Benton, and Scott Burton, along with three of New York's most acclaimed restaurants - Le Bernardin, Palio and Mariel Hemingway's Sam's. Along with The Equitable, tenants include First National Bank of Chicago, Ernst & Young, Banque Pribas, and others. The Paine Webber Building at 1285 Avenue of the Americans was designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill and completed in 1961. The building is the headquarters of Paine Webber; BBDO BBDO Batten, Barton, Durstine & Osborn
