), will increase prices on sulfate sulfate, chemical compound containing the sulfate (SO4) radical. Sulfates are salts or esters of sulfuric acid, H2SO4, formed by replacing one or both of the hydrogens with a metal (e.g., sodium) or a radical (e.g., ammonium or ethyl).  of potash (SOP) specialty fertilizer products by $65 per ton on shipments to the U.S. and Canada and by $100 per ton on all international shipments effective January 14, 2008. The price increases are being introduced to support the company's previously announced investments in capacity and efficiency at its Ogden, Utah solar evaporation facility. The investments will help the company meet the growing worldwide demand for SOP as an environmentally friendly, organic specialty fertilizer.
