Compass Bank City President Appointed to Regional Executive Officer.

TUSCALOOSA, Ala.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 10, 2000

Jon A. Carter, city president of Compass Bank-Tuscaloosa, Ala., was recently appointed regional executive officer for Northwest Alabama's community banking division. The announcement was made by Jim Heslop, Compass Bank executive vice president of community banking.

As regional executive officer, Carter is responsible for corporate and private banking in Tuscaloosa, Jasper, Sumiton, Cullman, Decatur, Athens, Florence, Tuscumbia, Sheffield and Muscle Shoals Muscle Shoals, town (1990 pop. 9,611), Colbert co., NW Ala., on the Tennessee River opposite Florence; inc. 1923. Chemicals, truck trailers, and nuts, screws, and bolts are manufactured. . Carter has been city president in Tuscaloosa for eight years. He also served as city president for Compass Bank in Athens, Ala., for five years. Carter has been with Compass Bank for 17 years.

In Tuscaloosca, Carter is a board member of The ARC, Shelton State Foundation and is a member of the University of Alabama President's Council. Carter is also on the regional advisory committee of the Business Council of Alabama.
