Compaq Selects Radiant Logic to Provide Virtual Directory for Nonstop Servers.

Radiant Logic, Inc., today announced that Compaq Computer Corporation (NYSE: CPQ) has chosen the RadiantOne(TM) Virtual Directory Server (VDS) to provide directory and application integration for the Compaq NonStop(TM) Himalaya(TM) server. As a result of the agreement, the companies will partner to deliver the Virtual Directory for NonStop Servers (VDNS).

NonStop servers, part of Compaq's high-end enterprise server family, are designed to provide the highest levels of availability and scalability, allowing companies to increase their computing power as needed and execute real time business processing capability. The use of Compaq's Zero Latency Enterprise (ZLE) solution architecture and Radiant's VDNS enables enterprise-wide integration and access to business applications and directory services, providing consolidated, up-to-the-second information at every customer, supplier or partner touch point.

By using VDNS, customers will be able to implement an enterprise directory infrastructure for eBusiness Solutions that is fault-tolerant, scalable and continuously available. They will also have a Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) and Extensible Markup Language (XML) access to the NonStop SQL database. In addition, the use of VDNS will assist in migrating and consolidating business critical directories and data repositories to the NonStop SQL database.

The Virtual Directory for NonStop servers maps and caches the results of queries from the NonStop SQL database, as well as other existing data sources, into LDAP objects using Radiant Logic's Intelligent Object Mapping and Caching (IOMC) technology. IOMC technology eliminates the need for replication and synchronization, thereby reducing the cost and complexity of integrating directories into enterprise directory infrastructure.
