Compaq ProLiant Servers are the First to Ship with Production-Quality Pentium II Xeon Processors; Announces its Fourth Performance Title for these ProLiant Servers.

), the industry-standard server market share leader, today announced worldwide that it has begun shipping Compaq ProLiant 7000 and ProLiant 6000 servers with production-quality 400 MHz (MegaHertZ) One million cycles per second. It is used to measure the transmission speed of electronic devices, including channels, buses and the computer's internal clock. Prior to today, all Xeon processors shipped from any source for use in four-way servers have had this issue. After working closely with Intel to identify these issues, Compaq is pleased to see that an expedient resolution has been achieved.

We've been Beta testing our new ProLiant enterprise-class servers for more than two months now. Our customers have seen tremendous performance advantages," McDowell said.

ProLiant 7000 Eclipses Eight-Processor Microsoft Exchange Record

In addition to establishing world record benchmarks on TPC-C, SAP and Baan under Windows NT, the Compaq ProLiant 7000 has now set a new Microsoft Exchange Server Microsoft Exchange Server is a messaging and collaborative software product developed by Microsoft.
