) today announced a limited time promotion including a 50-percent price reduction, in the U.S., on new 19-inch and 21-inch monitors, when purchased with select 2D or 3D Compaq Professional Workstations between Nov. 1, 1997, and Jan. 31, 1998. Combined prices for 2D Professional Workstations with the Compaq V90 19-inch monitor now start at $3,943 (1), while 3D models with the Compaq P110--the world's first 21-inch Trinitron monitor--are available from only $6,799. These price reductions will allow users to purchase Compaq's new larger format monitors--at a deep discount--for enhanced productivity in visually demanding applications, such as financial trading, electronic design automation, computer-aided design computer-aided design (CAD) or computer-aided design and drafting (CADD), form of automation that helps designers prepare drawings, specifications, parts lists, and other design-related elements using special graphics- and calculations-intensive  and engineering, digital content creation The development of newsworthy, educational and entertainment material for distribution over the Internet or other electronic media. The P110 is the world's first 21-inch Trinitron monitor and features a .25-.27mm aperture grille The technology used for illuminating phosphors in Sony's CRT Trinitron monitors.
