) today announced it has expanded capabilities of the Compaq NonStop(TM) Payments Factory to provide the industry's most scalable wholesale payments e-payment solution. The Compaq NonStop(TM) Payments Factory was introduced as a Windows NT (Windows New Technology) A 32-bit operating system from Microsoft for Intel x86 CPUs. NT is the core technology in Windows 2000 and Windows XP (see Windows). Available in separate client and server versions, it includes built-in networking and preemptive multitasking. Compaq now offers these solutions on the Compaq NonStop(TM) Himalaya servers and a version that runs on the Compaq Tru64 UNIX The 64-bit Unix operating system for HP's AlphaServers. Formerly Digital Unix when Alpha was a product family from Digital Equipment Corporation, it was renamed Tru64 Unix in 1999 by Compaq (HP acquired Compaq in 2002).
