), the world's leader in monitor shipments(1), today broadened its line of commercial monitors with the worldwide introduction of four new commercial monitors. Today's announcement expands Compaq's offerings in its Corporate Value line and Standard line of monitors, reinforcing its commitment to provide an extensive array of affordable, large screen monitors for every customer segment. Also, Compaq backs these monitors with a three-year warranty program to provide its customers with the highest level of service and support.

The new V900 is Compaq's first reduced-depth 19-inch monitor, delivering 26 percent more screen size but taking less desk space than a 17-inch monitor. The V1000 features a 21-inch screen at a value price, while the S900 monitor allows customers to set the 19-inch monitor as the standard for all users. Also, Compaq continues to lead innovations in Thin Film Transfer (TFT) technology with the company's first flat panel LCD monitor A flat panel display that uses liquid crystals. Although laptops have used LCDs as their flat panel technology almost exclusively, LCD is also the most popular for flat panel desktop monitors. Toward the end of 2003, sales of LCD displays for desktops overtook CRTs for the first time.  made for enterprise rack environments. The Compaq Flat Panel Monitor Rackmount TFT450R provides ultimate flexibility in an innovative 2U space-saving design.

Designed to provide space-constrained power users with a larger screen size and less depth than traditional 17-inch CRT monitors, the V900 is Compaq's first reduced-depth 19-inch monitor in the company's award-winning Corporate Value line of monitors. The V900 incorporates unique space-saving features to give users more flexibility with their desktop space and to allow customers to migrate to a 19-inch monitor without sacrificing more desk space than with a 17-inch monitor. The "short neck" tube design reduces the depth of the monitor by two inches and Compaq's own unique concealed cable feature allows connections to plug into the back of the monitor vertically so users can place the monitor flush against the wall.

Providing exceptional screen performance, the V900 features .22 mm horizontal dot pitch for outstanding clarity. The monitor supports an optimal resolution of 1280x1024 at 85 Hz to provide the maximum amount of data on the screen. The V900 is Macintosh compatible(2) and has 20 factory preset modes to provide easy setup. Also, with 15 user-programmable modes, customers are able to create customized screen configurations.

In addition to providing users with more desk space, the V900 monitor is easy to use. Compaq's intuitive three-button on-screen on·screen or on-screen

Compaq makes it easier and more cost effective for customers to migrate to a 21-inch monitor with the introduction of the Compaq V1000, an affordable full-featured 21-inch (20-inch viewable) monitor priced less than $1000. This addition to Compaq's award-winning Corporate Value line is primarily targeted toward workstation customers and power users who prefer larger screens for CAD/CAE CAD/CAE Computer Aided Design and Computer Aided Engineering , desktop publishing desktop publishing, system for producing printed materials that consists of a personal computer or computer workstation, a high-resolution printer (usually a laser printer), and a computer program that allows the user to select from a variety of type fonts and sizes,  and graphic design. The V1000 offers strong screen performance in a space saving design for increased user productivity and flexibility.

The V1000 has a .22 mm horizontal dot pitch for exceptional clarity and sharper images. Compaq also designed the monitor with 22 factory preset modes to provide easy setup and eliminate the process of making adjustments when switching between applications. The V1000 monitor is a flexible platform for Macintosh(5) customers, featuring a resolution of 1152x870 at a refresh of 75 Hz.

Compaq designed the V1000 monitor with several innovative features including recessed cables in the back of the monitor and a dual input switch to allow multiple PC connections. The V1000 also includes Compaq's three-button on-screen controls, Colorific(R) software(6) and Universal Serial Bus (USB) powered hub. The V1000 is available worldwide for $999(7). Featuring quality front-of-screen performance, high-resolution capabilities and flicker-free image quality, the S900 is the perfect choice for users who want to standardize on 19-inch monitors. The larger screen size of the S900 benefits power users who want to concurrently engage in multiple complex applications without scrolling. The S900 monitor is a high-contrast flat square CRT with .22 mm horizontal dot pitch and a high refresh rate for flicker free images at a 1600x1200 resolution. The 15 factory preset modes and five user programmable modes allow for easy setup and customization. Also, the S900 is Macintosh compatible, supporting a 1152x870 resolution at 75 Hz refresh rate, to simplify mixed computing environments. Space-Efficient Rackmount Monitor Technology

The new Compaq Flat Panel Monitor Rackmount (TFT450R) utilizes Compaq's 14.5-inch viewable Flat Panel Monitor to provide exceptional screen performance. The TFT450R's space-saving form factor allows the monitor to be neatly tucked away in a retractable re·tract
