Compaq Company's Tandem Division Chooses Crystal Point's OutsideView Software For The New Himalaya Server.


BOTHELL, Wash.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 17, 1998--Crystal Point, Inc. announced that it has signed a new agreement with the Compaq Company's Tandem (Tandem Computers Inc., Cupertino, CA) A former major manufacturer of fault-tolerant computers founded in 1974 by James Treybig and provider of the early 21st century technology for HP's enterprise computing strategy.  Division to ship OutsideView(R) PC-to-host connectivity software with every Tandem Himalaya S-Series Server.

Written for Windows 95 and Windows NT (Windows New Technology) A 32-bit operating system from Microsoft for Intel x86 CPUs. NT is the core technology in Windows 2000 and Windows XP (see Windows). Available in separate client and server versions, it includes built-in networking and preemptive multitasking.  workstations, Crystal Point's 32-bit OutsideView software was selected by Tandem after being tested against other 32-bit connectivity software products for the Tandem environment. Under an existing agreement, Crystal Point's 16-bit OutsideView software is also shipped by Tandem with their Himalaya K10000 and Himalaya K20000 Servers. "We are very pleased our OutsideView software continues to be the standard PC-to-host connectivity software shipped on Tandem servers," said Crystal Point CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Founded in 1986, Crystal Point, Inc. is a privately-held software development company, specializing in products and services for the Tandem computer market. The company's family of OutsideView software products are used worldwide wherever Tandem NonStop HP's brand name for its fault-tolerant servers, which range in size from four CPUs to 4,000 CPUs. The NonStop line was created by Tandem Computers, which was acquired by Compaq, which later became part of HP.  systems are employed, including Tandem Computers (company) Tandem Computers - A US computer manufacturer.
