Compaq Announces Holiday Monitor Pricing.

V1000 21-Inch Color CRT Monitor Now $899

Compaq Computer Corporation (NYSE:CPQ) today announced a special holiday promotion on the Compaq V1000 21-inch (20-inch viewable) color CRT monitor. Effective immediately, customers will have the opportunity to buy a 21-inch color monitor for $899, previously priced at $999.(1)

Since prices on 21-inch monitors are averaging about $1,100 (source: ARS, November 30, 1998), customers can realize a considerable savings on the V1000.

After extensive customer research, Compaq designed the V1000 to help businesses improve productivity, with a .22 mm horizontal dot pitch and a resolution of 1600 x 1200 at a refresh rate of 85Hz for excellent image quality. Convenience features include a Universal Serial Bus (USB) powered hub in the base to connect USB peripherals and Colorific software to match on-screen color to the output of a color printer. The V1000 is covered under Compaq's service and support package, which includes three-year parts and first-year on-site labor warranty.
