    Award-Winning Performance and Value

The ELSA Synergy II, based on the TNT-2 chipset from nVIDIA, offers a rich OpenGL implementation including hardware triangle setup In 3D graphics rendering, computing the rate of change of RGB color values between the points of each triangle (vertices) so that the triangles can be filled with color properly in the rasterization stage. In the 3D world, each object is represented as a collection of triangles. , texture blending support, and full scene anti-aliasing, as well as an OpenGL software implementation that has been optimized for, and tested with, numerous technical 2D and 3D applications. The ELSA Synergy II is the fastest entry 3D graphics solution available for running technical applications. The ELSA Synergy II supports AGP2X and 4X, a unified frame buffer An area of memory used to hold a frame of data. Typically used for screen output, the buffer is the size of the maximum image that can be displayed on the screen. The memory, which is either a separate memory bank on the display adapter or a reserved part of regular memory, holds a  with 32 MB of memory, and a 300 MHz (MegaHertZ) One million cycles per second. It is used to measure the transmission speed of electronic devices, including channels, buses and the computer's internal clock. A one-megahertz clock (1 MHz) means some number of bits (16, 32, 64, etc.  RAMDAC (Random Access Memory Digital to Analog Converter) The VGA controller chip that maintains the color palette and converts data from memory into analog signals for the monitor.

The 3Dlabs Oxygen GVX1, based on the GLINT Gamma/R3 chipset, is the fastest midrange 3D graphics controller for the workstation professional using technical applications such as Discreet MAX, Alias Maya, and Softimage, as well as CAD and CAE (1) (Computer-Aided Engineering) Software that analyzes designs which have been created in the computer or that have been created elsewhere and entered into the computer.  applications like PRO/E, UG, Solidworks and AutoCAD. The Oxygen(TM) GVX1 is bundled with Soft Engine 4 AutoCAD display-list drivers from Vibrant Graphics, Inc. The 3Dlabs Oxygen GVX1 runs applications in 16.7 million photo-realistic colors. It also supports 24-bit, true color (1) Specifically, refers to 16,777,216 colors (24-bit color). See high color.

The Compaq Professional Workstation AP200 with an Oxygen GVX1 graphics card recently received the number-one rating in the Price/Performance and Best Value category in the influential Bench99 test conducted by Pro/E The Magazine, an independent publication for Pro/ENGINEER users. (See the Compaq press release "Compaq Tops Workstation Benchmarks," 6/21/99). The Compaq workstation beat out competing workstations by nearly 20 percent.

The Synergy II and Oxygen GVX1 cards complement the broad portfolio of graphics solutions for the Professional Workstation line, including the Matrox Millenium G200, Productiva 100 Quad, and Compaq PowerStorm 600 based on the Intense 3D Wildcat 4000 technology.
