The "Triple Play" Technologies

Compaq began its pursuit of mass-market high-speed Internet services as a key leader in the formation of the Universal ADSL Working Group(2) (UAWG) in January 1998. The efforts of the UAWG and its significant contributions to the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) accelerated the development of the G.Lite (G.992.2) standard for DSL, which was determined last month by the ITU. The new G.Lite standard will make access to broadband Internet services as simple as plugging a phone into the wall.
