At the Microsoft Exchange Conference, Compaq introduced Next Generation Services for Microsoft Exchange 2000 that leverage proven methodology and identify areas where improvements can be made to provide more economical and secure operations and help ensure uninterrupted business operations. Compaq's new services and overall solutions capabilities help customers to maximize their Microsoft Exchange and Windows 2000 infrastructure.

Next Generation Services for Microsoft Exchange 2000 include ExpertCheck for Microsoft Exchange 2000, available now, and additional services to be made available in late 1999 and in the first quarter of 2000 to help customers implement a complete Microsoft Exchange 2000 environment. The portfolio will include these additional services:

- Preparation for Assessment for Microsoft Exchange 2000

- Evaluation Pilot for Microsoft Exchange 2000

- Planning and Design for Microsoft Exchange 2000

- Migration and Integration of Microsoft Exchange 2000

In addition, Compaq's existing portfolio of High Availability support services will be extended to include Microsoft Exchange 2000.

ExpertCheck for Microsoft Exchange

The ExpertCheck service is designed to help customers leverage Microsoft Exchange to increase productivity. Compaq analyzes the use of electronic messaging and collaboration in the Microsoft Exchange environment to check how it fulfills today's business requirements and tomorrow's challenges. Such analysis will also identify how a customer could benefit from a migration to Microsoft Exchange Server 2000. Additionally, Compaq assesses a customer's implementation for conformance to Compaq Best Practices for Microsoft Exchange, which the Company developed based on experience with more than 400 enterprise customers.

Microsoft Exchange 8-Way Server Benchmark Records

Compaq also has set a new, world record for performance numbers on Microsoft Exchange Server v5.5 running on the Compaq 8-way ProLiant 8500 server. Compaq achieved the highest ever Microsoft Messaging Application Program Interface (MAPI) Messaging Benchmark (MMB) on an eight-processor server: 32,500 MMB using eight 550-MHz Intel Pentium III/2-MB Xeon processors. This MAPI benchmark was achieved on a fully standard platform, using an off-the-shelf server system and an unmodified version of Microsoft Exchange Server. Comprehensive Portfolio for Microsoft Exchange Customers

- New features and enhancements in the upcoming version 2.0 of

Compaq Work Expeditor work management solution include higher

availability and extended support for the latest Microsoft

technologies. Work Expeditor will feature new Web interfaces and

extensive support for the Microsoft Digital Dashboard. In

addition, Work Expeditor v2.0 will run in Microsoft cluster

environments. Additional work management features include

enhanced knowledge management via access to SQL database
