US Airways Group and AirTran Holdings reported quarterly profits on Thursday, but the results failed to bolster airline shares, which tumbled with the broader stock market. Both US carriers offered sunny outlooks, but experts said the results featured little new information to counter concerns about softening domestic travel demand and rising jet fuel prices.
