Midwest Investor Calls For Talks With AirTran. Hedge fund Octavian Global Partners, the largest institutional holder in Midwest Air Group, said the airline's board should open talks with prospective buyer AirTran Holdings, a regulatory filing on Monday showed. Midwest, which had steadfastly opposed AirTran's hostile takeover offer valued at USD$15 per share, recently left the door open to negotiations after shareholders in June elected AirTran's three nominees to Midwest's board. Octavian holds 7.5 percent of its outstanding Midwest shares, which closed at USD$14.40 on the American Stock Exchange. Jul 24, 2007

Midwest files lawsuit over wing damage at Milwaukee airport. Midwest Airlines is suing several parties in an attempt to recoup an aircraft repair bill for more than $400,000. The suit stems from a 2005 incident in which a Midwest-operated jet collided with a truck spraying weedkiller along a runway at Milwaukee's Mitchell International Airport. Jul 26, 2007
