Emirates is reconfiguring its entire Boeing 777 fleet with the new look at a cost of $14 million per aircraft. "We are gutting every one and doing a total makeover," Clark said. The 29 Airbus A330-200s, "the oldest aircraft in the fleet," will be given a more modest $4 million-per-aircraft facelift. The centerpiece of the product is EK's latest version of its Panasonic ICE inflight entertainment system, which now boasts more than 2,000 video, music and game options. He said the A380 interior will be revealed in the second quarter of 2008. He added that the carrier expects to "double the number [of A380s] subject to government approval but it also depends on the pace of construction of Dubai World Central This article or section contains information about expected future buildings or structures.

"It would have been a miracle for Boeing to have flown the 787 on time," Clark said. The 787 Dreamliner will be "one of the finest aircraft ever built," he said. "If you think about it, there is just so much new technology in the 787 it is no surprise at all there is a short delay and the supply chain has let [Boeing] down." Sep 10, 2007
