Air Astana Air Astana is an airline based in Astana, Kazakhstan. It is the national carrier of Kazakhstan and operates scheduled domestic and international services. Its main bases are Astana International Airport and Almaty International Airport[1]. , the Kazakhstan flag carrier, celebrated its fifth anniversary with the delivery of its second Boeing 767-300ER. Its fleet also includes four 757s, two A321s, five A320s and five F50s. Boeing said three large 787 composite fuselage sections, one forward and two aft, arrived Friday at its Everett plant, where final assembly of the Dreamliner will take place. The two aft composite sections were manufactured and joined by Vought Aircraft Industries in Charleston, S.C. One section is 23 ft. long and 19 ft. in diameter while the other is 15 ft. long and 14 ft. in diameter. The sections were delivered via the Dreamlifter. Boeing announced that it has reached a tentative agreement for a new three-year contract with the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers is an AFL-CIO/CLC trade union representing approx. 646,933 workers as of 2006 in more than 200 industries.  District 837. Kenya Airways 737 Crash Pilot Took Off Despite Storm Warning. The pilot of a Kenya Airways plane that crashed in Cameroon this month decided to take off in stormy weather while other flights waited for conditions to improve, Cameroon's civil aviation chief said on Tuesday. Cameroon has launched an investigation into the crash of the six-month-old Boeing 737-800, which crashed into swampy jungle not far from Douala Airport shortly after taking off around midnight on May 4-5.
