Finding an effective way to support the GreCon systems and software was essential, so the company turned to NetOp Remote Control software, developed by Danish IT company Danware and sold and serviced in the United States United States, officially United States of America, republic (2005 est. pop. 295,734,000), 3,539,227 sq mi (9,166,598 sq km), North America. NetOp Remote Control allows GreCon support professionals to remotely help customers with technical problems and software issues. A technical service representative in Tigard can -- with the user's permission -- take remote control of a customer's computer thousands of miles away in northeastern Canada and provide help with troubleshooting Troubleshooting is a form of problem solving. In most situations changing configuration settings, replacing data files, or sending a system part to the customer corrects the problem.

"We tried quite a few popular remote control software programs before settling on NetOp," said David Harrold, the technical manager who oversees R&D and technical support for GreCon systems in North America. "We found that NetOp was a more stable product. The other products we tried had problems with memory leakage LEAKAGE. GreCon has been using the NetOp product for more than six years and the software is a standard program installed on all GreCon computers. Harrold even purchased a license to put NetOp on his computer at home.

"This is a great support tool that has prevented me more than once from having to travel to distant job sites," said Harrold. "Using it is just like sitting next to the person and walking them through a problem."

GreCon has more than 100 licenses in North America for NetOp Remote Control and also uses the product to get support and help from GreCon's corporate headquarters in Hannover, Germany.

"We have had no issues with NetOp Remote Control," said Harrold. "It is very simple to set up and it takes no time to get it up and running."

Harrold says that the remote control software has been so impressive that some of his customers have purchased their own packages and licenses to have complete access to NetOp Remote Control.

Earlier this year, NetOp Tech released the latest version of the software, NetOp Remote Control 9.0. With NetOp Remote Control 9.0, helpdesk personnel can have their identity verified ver·i·fy
