Business Editors/High-Tech Writers

--(BUSINESS WIRE)

Taming Technology by Brian The name Brian (sometimes spelled Bryan) comes from an Irish backround. It is of Celtic origin and its meaning may be "hill" or "strong, noble, and high"[1].  Nichelson takes the mystery, fear, frustration and confusion out of technology. Nichelson examines the nature of technology and how it affects us all, and then outlines three Technology Maxims maxims n. a collection of legal truisms which are used as "rules of thumb" by both judges and lawyers. They are listed in the codified statutes of most states, and include:

"When the reason of a rule ceases, so should the rule itself"
for coping efficiently and effectively with technology.

The central message is that it's time It's Time was a successful political campaign run by the Australian Labor Party (ALP) under Gough Whitlam at the 1972 election in Australia. Campaigning on the perceived need for change after 23 years of conservative (Liberal Party of Australia) government, Labor put forward a  we take control of technology, rather than surrendering to it. And that means all technology, from toasters to 747s, not just the PC on your desk. The first step is to learn more about the technology in our lives, and Nichelson offers resources and techniques that any reader can apply. He then teaches us how to leverage the human element behind technology; it's it's

From a single machine to a worldwide system, technology is interconnected. By understanding that interconnectedness interconnectedness (inˈ·ter·k , we can see the bigger picture of the technology at hand.

Taming Technology closes with tried-and-true advice for applying these ideas in the real world. Nichelson provides a blueprint blueprint, white-on-blue photographic print, commonly of a working drawing used during building or manufacturing. The plan is first drawn to scale on a special paper or tracing cloth through which light can penetrate.  that each of us can use to create a personal strategy for coping with technology. That blueprint is equally valid at home or at work. In fact, business managers will find much in this book to ponder Ponder - A non-strict polymorphic, functional language by Jon Fairbairn <jf@cl.cam.ac.uk>.

Ponder's type system is unusual. It is more powerful than the Hindley-Milner type system used by ML and Miranda and extended by Haskell.

After reading this book, you'll see technology in a whole new light!
