Girl Scouts Girl Scouts, recreational and service organization founded (1912) in Savannah, Ga., by Mrs. Juliette Gordon Low (1860–1927). In partnership with dedicated adult volunteers, girls develop qualities that will serve them all their lives, like leadership, strong values, social conscience, and conviction about their own potential and self-worth.

The Girl Scouts of the Chesapeake Bay Council encompasses all of the Delmarva Peninsula which includes Delaware, the Eastern Shore of Maryland The Eastern Shore of Maryland is composed of the state's nine counties east of the Chesapeake Bay. The counties are Caroline County, Cecil County, Dorchester County, Kent County, Queen Anne's County, Somerset County, Talbot County, Wicomico County, Worcester County. , and the Eastern Shore of Virginia The Eastern Shore of Virginia is on the Atlantic Coast of the Commonwealth of Virginia. The region is part of the Delmarva Peninsula and is separated from the rest of Virginia by the Chesapeake Bay. .
