Voumard Inc. (Elmsford, N.Y.), the U.S. subsidiary of the Swiss grinder builder, is launching a Midwest service center in Des Plaines, Ill.

De-Sta-Co Industries (Madison Heights, Mich.), the manufacturer of manual and power clamps, celebrates its 85th anniversary this year. Its toggle clamp patent was awarded in 1936. In the 1990s the company moved further into robotics with the acquisitions of Robohand Inc. and EOA Systems, for end-of-arm tooling.

Sandvik Milford Corp. recently terminated a supply agreement with a customer that accounted for 90% of the volume of its plant in Branford, Conn. Now that 100-worker industrial-bandsaw factory will shut down.... Elsewhere, Bahco Tool Co. (Scranton, Pa., formerly Sandvik Saws & Tools Corp before Snap-On acquired it last October) will centralize bandsaw blade production in a new plant in Bramley, England, effective in June.

The Advanced Products Division of Mechanical Technology Inc. (Albany, N.Y.) will become a separate subsidiary, MTI Instruments, to be headed by Edward Dohring. The unit makes highprecision noncontact measurement products.

Milacron, Inc. completed a public offering in Eurobonds through its Milacron Capital Holdings B.V. subsidiary. The proceeds will be used for a $100-million repayment of notes maturing next month and for general corporate purposes.
