Anchorage School District The Anchorage School District (ASD) manages all public schools within the Municipality of Anchorage in the U.S. state of Alaska.

It is the 87th largest school district in the United States, serving approximately 50,000 students at 93 schools.

The program started as a collaborative project between the school district and the Anchorage Chamber of Commerce. School Business Partnerships, Inc. has since fostered more than 575 relationships among the school district, business members of the chamber and local non-profit organizations A non-profit organization (abbreviated "NPO", also "non-profit" or "not-for-profit") is a legally constituted organization whose primary objective is to support or to actively engage in activities of public or private interest without any commercial or monetary profit purposes. .

The purpose of School Business Partnerships is to be a liaison between schools and businesses and to enhance educational opportunities available to students and the community That enhancement comes from increasing cooperation between businesses and the school district through career/ workplace experiences and opportunities that will increase learning in the classroom.

The foundation for the program was laid by a committed group of education and business leaders, including Chamber of Commerce Chairman Ernie Hall, School District Superintendent District Superintendent may be:
  • District Superintendent (United Methodist Church)
  • A rank in the London Metropolitan Police in use from 1869 to 1886, when it was renamed Chief Constable
 Bob Christal, Executive Director of Community Education Jill Waters and retired Anchorage School District Principal James Utter To publish or offer; to send into circulation.

 learning and in-kind donations. The program, which has served more than 11,000 students, is run by a volunteer board of directors made up of school district and business leaders.

The executive director and teams of coordinators within the schools work to recruit business and other community organizations to get involved in school classrooms. Partners in the program range from a small one-person business operation involved with one school to large corporations working with many schools. Partners also include nonprofits such as hospitals.
