COMPANHIA VALE DO RIO DOCE Summary
Companhia Vale do Rio Doce (CVRD) is a global diversified mining company, the second largest mining company in the world, and the largest logistics operator in Brazil.
, a Brazilian metals and mining company, will raise by 71.5% the price of iron ore it sells in 2005 to Nippon Nippon (nĭp`ŏn, nĭpŏn`), name for Japan, derived from Dai Nippon, meaning Great Japan. The expression comes from the Chinese ideograph for the place where the sun comes from, or Land of the Rising Sun.  Steel, a Japanese Japanese (jăp'ənēz`), language of uncertain origin that is spoken by more than 125 million people, most of whom live in Japan. There are also many speakers of Japanese in the Ryukyu Islands, Korea, Taiwan, parts of the United States, and  steelworks, and also to Pohang Steel, a Korean steel company, among others. The increase reflects unprecedented global demand for iron, the company said.
