CompactPCI SBC from Curtiss.A new, high-performance rugged 3U CompactPCI Single Board Computer (SBC (1) (SBC Communications Inc., San Antonio, TX, www.sbc.com) A large, national telecommunications company that grew from a multitude of local and regional companies, including Southwestern Bell, Pacific Bell and Nevada Bell, into a single, unified brand by 2002. ) has recently been introduced by Curtiss-Wright Embedded Computing. The SCP/DCP-124P SBC supports PICMBG 2.3-compliant mapping of PMC (1) See Portable Media Center. (2) (PCI Mezzanine Card) A PCI-based mezzanine card that is widely adapted to VMEbus, CompactPCI and PCI cards. I/O (Input/Output) The transfer of data between the CPU and a peripheral device. Every transfer is an output from one device and an input to another. See PC input/output. I/O - Input/Output through the backplane peripheral slots. The SCP/DCP-124P board supports 64-bit PMC and is powered by a Freescale Altivec-enhanced 7448 PowerPC processor running at either 1.0 or 1.2 GHz with one MB of internal ECC (1) (Error-Correcting Code) A type of memory that corrects errors on the fly. See ECC memory. (2) (Elliptic Curve Cryptography) A public key cryptography method that provides fast decryption and digital signature processing. L2 cache that operates at core processor speed. System expansion is through a 64-bit, 100 MHz PCI-X-capable PMC site. Up to two USB ports are available, as well as two 10/100/100 Base-T Ethernet ports. 128 Kbytes of non-volatile Ram and eight Mbytes of Flash Ram (for Permanent Alternate Protected Access Boot Site) are standard. |
