The ERC 13 is the latest addition to the company's E Series line of servo robots. The company now offers a complete line of servo robots to cover injection molding machinery from 28 to 6,000 tons. In order to combine system advantages with cost benefits, every component of this small robot has undergone careful analysis, resulting in a small, high-performance robot with an economical price-performance ratio, according to the manufacturer. Featuring hardened and precision-ground guides on a newly developed aluminum frame structure, in conjunction with high-precision drive technology, is said to ensure high positioning accuracy, as well as high speeds and high durability and stability, according to the company. Performance features are said to include availability on all makes and models of injection molding machinery with clamp forces from 28 to 165 tons; capability of payloads up to 6.6 pounds; a lightweight aluminum structure that reduces the mass, thereby increasing speed; X, Y and Z axis profiles specially designed for optimum torsional rigidity; a compact design that allows for a shorter mold opening stroke, providing faster cycle times; and all axes are servo driven and have the capability of operating simultaneously.
