CompUSA Gives Tennesseans a Jump-Start on Great Tax-Free Deals.

CompUSA Makes Tax-Free Shopping Tax-free shopping refers to the opportunity for customers to purchase goods or services without paying any tax normally collected at retail, such as sales tax, Goods and Services Tax, value added tax, or consumption tax.  Convenient by Taking Early Product Reservations and Extending Store Hours

NASHVILLE and KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- CompUSA is making it easier than ever to save money during Tennessee's Sales Tax sales tax, levy on the sale of goods or services, generally calculated as a percentage of the selling price, and sometimes called a purchase tax. It is usually collected in the form of an extra charge by the retailer, who remits the tax to the government.  Holiday, April 27 - April 29. In addition to offering great savings, CompUSA is providing two convenient shopping options that will appeal to consumers who love to shop and to those early birds that want to avoid the crowds.

For consumers who love the savings but want to minimize their time shopping during the tax-free holiday weekend, CompUSA is offering product reservations. Beginning April 22, customers can reserve products in advance of the tax-free holiday weekend by purchasing a gift card in the amount of products. The products will be reserved in the customer's name and redeemed re·deem

CompUSA is also adjusting its hours to make shopping more convenient during the tax-free weekend. CompUSA locations in Nashville, Knoxville and Brentwood will extend their regular store hours on Friday, April 27 and Saturday, April 28 from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and on Sunday, April 29 from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

"Our goal is to provide consumers with the best shopping experience possible and we believe that, in addition to the options of product reservations and extended hours, shoppers will also benefit from exceptional in-store sales, adding to their sales tax savings," said Harold Havard, district manager, CompUSA.

In addition to the tax-free savings, customers who visit CompUSA stores will benefit from additional savings on popular technology products such as an HP Notebook for $799, a $400 savings; Compaq Computer for $499, a $200 savings; and an Envision LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) A display technology that uses rod-shaped molecules (liquid crystals) that flow like liquid and bend light.
