CompUSA, Inc. Announces the Appointment of Javier Larraza to Vice Chairman and Anthony Weiss as Chief Operating Officer.

CompUSA, Inc. Chairman Carlos Slim and newly appointed CEO Lawrence Mondry announced two more key executive moves within the technology retailer. Mr. Javier Larraza, who joined the company in March 2000 as its Chief Financial Officer, has been elevated to the additional post of Vice Chairman of the Board. Mr. Larraza assumes his new capacity effective immediately. In this role, Larraza will offer continued financial leadership and a strong strategic orientation.

In a second move, Mr. Mondry announced the promotion of Mr. Anthony Weiss as the company's President of CompUSA Stores and Chief Operating Officer. Mr. Weiss has been with the CompUSA organization since 1988 and although only age 36, he is presently one if its most senior team members. Tony brings a blend of store operations, service experience and merchandising expertise into his new capacity. Across his tenure at CompUSA, Weiss has enjoyed an extremely fast track and has advanced progressively through positions of increasing responsibility; most notably as general manager, regional manager, sr. director of direct sales, vice president of direct sales, executive vice president of business solutions, and most recently, as the executive vice president of merchandising. Known for his high energy and strategic perspective, Mr. Weiss is well equipped for his new role.
