CompReview Signs Contract With GAB Robbins' MedInsights Inc.

COSTA MESA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 3, 1998--HNC Software subsidiary CompReview, a national leader in health care information technology for workers' compensation and personal injury markets, has finalized a contract with MedInsights Inc., the managed care subsidiary of GAB Robbins, a leading third-party administrator (TPA).

Based in Atlanta, MedInsights serves more than 600 employers nationwide. Under the terms of the agreement, CompReview will process more than $10 million in workers' compensation medical bills each month for MedInsights client companies, and MedInsights will use the new Windows version of CompReview's flagship software system, CRLink.

CRLink reviews and "reprices" medical, medical/legal and vocational rehabilitation bills according to established fee schedules and/or "usual and customary charge" guidelines. The system provides an infrastructure that supports CompReview clients' managed care programs and allows the bill repricing function to be integrated with a host claim system, thereby eliminating the need for manual entry of claims data.

CRLink integrates a suite of options that includes managed care negotiated discounts, PPOs, electronic data interface and outcome reporting. That integration allows CRLink clients to significantly increase efficiency and capture additional savings.

CRLink also offers the capability for both electronic data interchange and electronic data interface with claims payment systems and state reporting agencies, speeds reimbursement to providers, eliminates the potential for duplication of payment, and creates a number of reports for clients with an emphasis on provider profiling.

CRLink customers receive continuous enhancements and upgrades, plus complimentary monthly updates on all state reimbursement guidelines. CompReview also provides a mail-in service for bill review processing, which includes distribution of PPO networks to clients.
