CompAir's High Pressure Oil-Free Compressor.

The BPC BPC British Potato Council

BPC British Pharmaceutical Codex
exhibition provides the opportunity for the first public showing in the UK of the CompAir PET 5281 high pressure oil-free reciprocating air compressor.

The PET 5000 range complements their smaller capacity compressor ranges that are designed specifically for the packaging and associated markets, which demand oil-free compressed air compressed air, air whose volume has been decreased by the application of pressure. Air is compressed by various devices, including the simple hand pump and the reciprocating, rotary, centrifugal, and axial-flow compressors.  to meet the latest food hygiene and health and safety regulations.

The three-model PET 5000 range has been developed as a complete package, incorporating silencer and filter, after-cooler, refrigerant re·frig·er·ant
adj.
1. Cooling or freezing; refrigerating.

2. Reducing fever.

n.
1. A substance, such as air, ammonia, water, or carbon dioxide, used to provide cooling either as the working substance of
dryer, air receiver, direct-coupled motor, all control systems and flexible connections for air delivery and cooling water piping.

Available with a range of electric motors, with power outputs from 225 to 450kw, these PET 5000 compressors have flow rates ranging from 1240 to 2527cu m an hour at a nominal working pressure of 40 bar g, they tell us.

In these units, unlike alternative piston ring designs, the ring always maintains a seal throughout life in both directions. These compressors have been designed in such a manner that oil never enters the compression cylinders, so oil vapour cannot reach the production line. Oil is not needed in the pistons as the piston rods themselves have non lubricated lu·bri·cate

iron cylinder liners. The W-configuration of the unit's three cylinder stages gives a compact design, which minimizes vibration, as does the low rotational speed of just 735rpm.
