"It was and is a much-loved church and I know its congregation are thrilled with its new look." He added the building would be re-named St Philip's Community Church to reflect the help it received. To mark this shift in focus, Mr Capper has started a new parent and child after-school club on a Tuesday. Messy Church encourages families to get together for arts and craft activities and storytelling. A pre-school club called Little Friends also takes place on a Wednesday morning and the church will hold a holiday club in October half term from Monday, October 26, to Thursday, October 29. Mr Capper added: "The old church had chronic problems with the roof and it caused quite a lot of damage. "Now we are open we hope a lot of people from the community will come in and have a look and get involved. "We can't thank everyone enough for the help they gave us in restoring the church."
