Community Trust Bancorp, Inc. Makes Announcement.

PIKEVILLE, Ky.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 2, 2003

Community Trust Bancorp, Inc. (Nasdaq:CTBI CTBI Churches Together in Britain and Ireland ), today announced that as of January 1, 2003, its subsidiaries, Community Trust Bank, N.A. and Trust Company of Kentucky, N.A. converted to Kentucky charters. Prior to January 1, both institutions were national associations. Following the conversion, Community Trust Bank, N.A. and Trust Company of Kentucky, N.A. will be known as Community Trust Bank and Community Trust and Investment Company, respectively.

Ms. Hale stated, "Following the conversion to the state charters, Community Trust Bank and Community Trust and Investment Company will conduct business without change, with the same services, management, employees and facilities." Ms. Hale noted that the conversion will result in administrative cost administrative cost Managed care A cost incurred by the 'business' end of a health care facility or university–eg, staffing and personnel costs, nursing home and hospital administration, insurance, and overhead expenses. Community Trust Bancorp, Inc., with assets of $2.4 billion, is headquartered in Pikeville, Kentucky Pikeville is a city in Pike County, Kentucky, United States. The population was 6,295 at the 2000 census. It is the county seat of Pike CountyGR6. Pike County has a population of approximately 70,000. , and has 69 banking locations across eastern and central Kentucky Central Kentucky is sometimes considered the Central and Southern part of the Bluegrass region, the Far Upper Western Eastern Mountain Coal Fields, and the Far Upper Eastern Pennyroyal regions.
