Community Telephone Selects DTI Network's Next Generation End Office Solution; Midwestern CLEC to Deliver Customized Voice Services with DTI's Web-based Feature Creation Technology.

DTI Networks, the leader in feature creation for the next generation end office, today announced that Community Telephone (www.communitytelephone.com), one of the largest facilities-based Competitive Local Exchange Carriers (CLEC) in the Midwest, will use DTI's Telecommunication Services Portal (TSP) and CSX 2100 end office solution to deliver innovative voice features to 50,000 residential and business customers throughout the Midwestern states. DTI's solution enables communication providers to leverage Web-based tools to rapidly create customized voice features to achieve differentiation in an increasingly competitive marketplace.

Based in Kansas City, Community Telephone offers a wide range of voice and data services, including local, long distance, Internet and a full complement of customer premise equipment, PBXs and key systems to both residential and business customers with its extensive fiber optic network throughout Kentucky, Indiana and Tennessee. Under this multi-year, multi-million dollar agreement, DTI will upgrade three Class 4 switching systems, currently serving Community Telephone's Kentucky markets, with a single TSP/CSX 2100 next generation end office, which delivers Class 4/5 functionality, provisioned with 528 T1s. Once it has completed expansion of its new fiber routes, Community Telephone plans to install five additional TSP/CSX 2100 systems to leverage the flexibility of DTI's feature creation solution to deliver innovative, dynamic voice services to customers in other markets within its territory.

The TSP is a call control server for circuit switched and packet/cell-based networks that decouples call processing from switching to allow features to be developed and delivered over any transport protocol. The TSP uses Call Policy Markup Language (CPML), an extension of the open XML language, created by DTI to open the telecommunications network to the simplicity and power of the Internet. The CSX 2100 is a Class 4/5 switch, which supports newer high-speed networks such as ATM, designed specifically for the CLEC market.
