SWIMMING TRYOUTS - The Eugene Y Aquatic Club begins tryouts today at 3:30 p.m. at Amazon Pool. All ages are welcome to try out for the area's largest competitive swim team. The first two weeks of participation are free of charge.  basketball club will hold tryouts today and Tuesday, 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., at Spencer Butte Spencer Butte is a prominent landmark in Lane County, Oregon, United States, south of Eugene. The peak has an elevation of 2055 feet[1] (626 m). Spencer Butte is accessible from Spencer Butte Park and has several hiking trails to the summit.  Middle School. Open to girls attending all middle schools, the club anticipates fielding two eighth-grade teams, one seventh-grade team and possibly one sixth-grade team. SATURDAY - The second annual Peak to Port Relay starts at the top of Mary's Peak, near Corvallis, and finishes at Yaquina Bay Bridge The Yaquina Bay Bridge is an arch bridge that spans Yaquina Bay south of Newport, Oregon. It is one of the most recognizable of the U.S. Route 101 bridges designed by Conde McCullough.[1]

The bridge opened on September 6, 1936, at a cost of $1,301,016.
 in Newport. Four-member relay teams in men's, women's and coed divisions compete on the 60-mile course. Check with race director Mike Wilson Mike Wilson could refer to the following people:

  • Mike Wilson (racing), six times winner of the Karting World Championship in the late 1980s and early 1990s

SUNDAY, SEPT. 22 - The Eugene Celebration Run at Alton Baker Park Alton Baker Park is located in Eugene, Oregon, United States, near Autzen Stadium. It features duck ponds, bicycle trails, and a dog park, and directly touches the Ferry Street Bridge.  includes an 8K run and 5K fitness walk at 9 a.m. and a 2K kids' fun run at 9:45 a.m. There are awards for open, masters and wheelchair divisions and five-year age groups. All kids who complete the fun run will receive a certificate, and the elementary school with the most entrants will receive a $500 award (pending sponsorship). Early entry fee for the 8K run or 5K walk with guaranteed T-shirt is $22. Without T-shirt is $12. Day of registration is $3 more except for the Kids Run ($15 w/shirt). . 6 - South Coast Running Club presents the Kentuck Run, including a 15K run, 5K run/walk and one-mile kids' run, beginning at 2 p.m. on Kentuck Way near North Bend/Coos Bay. SATURDAY, OCT. 26 - A fundraiser for the University of Oregon School of Law The University of Oregon School of Law, housed in the Knight Law Center, is Oregon's state funded law school. The school was founded in 1884.[1] The school is located on the University of Oregon campus in Eugene, Oregon, on the corner of 15th and Agate streets,  Tom Foster Scholarship Fund, the Tom Foster Memorial 5K run/walk and 2K fitness walk feature a campus course starting on the track at Hayward Field and finishing at the law school. Random prizes and refreshments will be offered at the finish of this Homecoming Weekend event. Entry fee is $18 with shirt, $12 without. Add $4 to race day entries.
