The Tanamera Apartment Homes in Reno, Nev., is currently in phase II of pre-leasing of 232 apartment homes, the latest in its 540-unit garden-style community. Phase I of its first 208 apartment homes is 95 percent leased. The community offers custom home interiors, including direct-access garages, nine-foot ceilings, roman tubs, granite countertops, custom maple cabinets, fireplaces, built--in entertainment centers, six phone lines per unit, ceramic tole floors, and upgraded carpet and pad. Resident services include 24-hour maintenance, concierge, valet trash pickup, and a full-time activities coordinator.

Post Properties of Atlanta, Ga., has begun construction on phase II of Post Midtown Square in Houston, Texas. This 13-story, 188-unit, loft building in Houston's Midtown district will begin phase II with leasing in the fourth quarter of 2000 and will have units available in the first quarter of 2001. Stabilization is expected during the fourth quarter of 2001. Rents will range from $800 to $3,000 per month. The community, located at Gray and Bagby streets, will feature apartment homes above ground-floor retail space. One of the first retail residents will be a 150-seat restaurant. The building includes 10 stories of apartment homes over a three-story parking garage.

JPI of Irving, Texas, has begun construction on Jefferson at Star Ranch, a Jefferson Commons, 328-unit, apartment community in Tuczon, Ariz., designed specifically for college students. Jefferson at Star Ranch will be located near the Starr Pass area of Tucson, less than four miles from the University of Arizona. All Jefferson Commons apartments are fully-furnished and rented by the bedroom. This enables students to be responsible only for their own rent. Sizes range from one, two, three and four-bedroom floorplans. JPI will prewire all bedrooms andliving rooms for cable television, telephone, and high speed Internet access. Apartment homes will also be wired for individual intrusion alrms and feature microwaves and full-sized washers and dryers.
