) announced today the acquisition of Mercy Health Center in Laredo, Texas, from the Sisters of Mercy (R. C. Ch.) a religious order founded in Dublin in the year 1827. Communities of the same name have since been established in various American cities. The duties of those belonging to the order are, to attend lying-in hospitals, to superintend the education of girls, and protect  Health System in St. Louis, Missouri. This acquisition includes a 326-bed hospital as well as an ambulatory care center ambulatory care center Walk-in clinic Medical practice A free-standing facility that provides non-emergent medical, or less commonly, dental services , a diagnostic center, a cancer center and several medical office buildings. The hospital was built in 1999 and will be renamed Laredo Medical Center.
