) today announced that it has filed a registration statement with the Securities and Exchange Commission relating to relating to relate prepconcernant

 the offer of up to 23.0 million shares of its common stock to be sold from time to time by affiliates of Forstmann Little & Co., the principal stockholder since its 1996 acquisition of the Company. Affiliates of Forstmann Little & Co. currently own 46.1 million shares of the Company, or 46.8% of the outstanding shares. The 23.0 million shares being offered represent approximately 49.8% of Forstmann Little & Co.'s beneficial ownership in the Company. Other stockholders of the Company, including members of management, will have the opportunity to participate with respect to a portion of their shares. The Company will not receive any proceeds from any sale of shares by the selling stockholders.
