Community Bankers Association of Illinois Endorses Winning Communities Program.


SPRINGFIELD, Ill. & INDIANAPOLIS -- Association Partners With Community Development Firm to Encourage Illinois Cities, Towns and Counties to Establish Vision and Action Plans for Future Growth and Achievement

) has formally endorsed its vision- and action-planning program to help communities plan for future growth and prosperity.

CBAI will recommend the Winning Communities program to its member institutions as a value-added service A value-added service (VAS) is a telecommunications industry term for non-core services or, in short, all services beyond standard voice calls and fax transmissions.  and encourage them to provide the local leadership to implement the program. Winning Communities, a proven exploratory planning process, brings together city, town, and/or county leaders to develop a detailed vision and action plan with specific, measurable objectives, including action steps for achieving positive results.

The Winning Communities process is different from many community development programs because of a unique certification program. Any city, town or county that participates in the Winning Communities program is eligible to become a Certified See certification.  Winning Community(TM) by achieving and making progress on many of the action items outlined in its community plan. This designation also helps ensure that the community takes action and that the plan does not collect dust on a shelf.
