Commtel Slows Data Center Project.

PORTLAND, Maine--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 24, 2001

Officials at Commtel today announced that due to uncertain economic conditions they are re-evaluating the timeline for construction of the Internet Data Center in Portland, Maine and subsequently a reduction in current staffing levels. The aggressive construction schedule called for completion of the Data Center by first quarter 2002.

Although the company is continuing discussions with various capital sources, today's decision was necessary in order to ensure Commtel's long-term financial position.

"Recent events coupled with a faltering economy have forced us to slow continued investment until industry and economic conditions stabilize," said Scott Roberts, President and Chief Operating Officer at Commtel. "I am personally saddened by the fact that, at this time, we cannot continue with our initial timeline.
