Commonwealth of Puerto Rico Municipal Collection Center (CRIM) Selects Hansen's Billing & Tax Solution to Manage and Bill 1.2 Million Accounts.
"The Hansen software will be used by all 78 municipalities on the island, including nine regional offices and the main central office in San Juan, which will make this Hansen's largest billing and tax customer with 1.2 million accounts billed per cycle," said Carlos Thomas, Director of Billing & Tax with Hansen. "Our project team, together with Rock Solid Technologies, will provide the Hansen system to about 1,200 users."
The Hansen team will be replacing CRIM's legacy system, which generates over $800 million in revenue annually, and convert five years worth of CRIM account data. The solution will be integrated into their current financials system (Oracle), which will allow for accurate reporting and disbursement of funds to the 78 municipalities. CRIM has not determined whether the Hansen system will be deployed on an SQL Server or an Oracle database; the Hansen system runs on either. CRIM estimates the peak user count will be just over 1,000.
"CRIM's main goal is to dramatically improve the services we provide to our clients," said Norman Foy, Executive Director of CRIM. "We believe Hansen's superior product coupled with Rock Solid's local presence will allow us to achieve our goal."
The Hansen software products that will be used in CRIM are Billing, Tax Administration & Management, Personal Property Tax, Cashiering, Customer Service Call Center, and Hansen Reporting Services (Crystal Reports).
CRIM is the organization responsible for the collection of all municipal property and personal taxes in the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico. It was created in 1991 as part of a municipal reform that was intended to position municipalities closer to their primary sources of revenue. CRIM provides fiscal services to 78 municipalities and, as a municipal organization, is responsible for the segregation, appraisal, notification, and collection of real and personal property taxes and the distribution of public funds provided by the sources defined by law. It manages approximately 1.2 million properties and generates in excess of $800 million in revenue. For more information, please visit CRIM's Web site at www.crimpr.net.
