Dr. Chimera brings over 20 years experience in the life sciences services area which has been built upon outstanding graduate and post-graduate training in modern molecular biology molecular biology, scientific study of the molecular basis of life processes, including cellular respiration, excretion, and reproduction. The term molecular biology was coined in 1938 by Warren Weaver, then director of the natural sciences program at the Rockefeller . More specifically, he brings an extensive background in genomics, clinical testing, and, most recently, informatics. He has been responsible for planning, launch, and management of several new business units in his previous positions and will be specifically charged with growing the commercial client base of CBI. Dr. Chimera will assume immediate oversight of CBI's sales, marketing, and business development activities.

"While CBI has established itself as a solid player in the government contracting arena, we have lagged in growing the commercial sector. Growth in the commercial sector is not only important for revenue growth in general but also for revenue balance between government and commercial clients and for the better margins achievable in the commercial sector. Dr. Chimera brings a unique mix of solid science and business development skills that will allow him to interface very effectively with both those responsible for product development and for pipeline management in the Pharma and Biotech clients we seek," said Richard J. Freer, Ph.D., Chairman and COO of CBI. "This is an outstanding new appointment for us and we are looking forward to Joe joining the management team at CBI," he added.

"Joe lead expansion initiatives at a previous employer which transformed an $8 million sales program into a $24 million discrete business unit," added Robert B. Longer-term, we will focus on attracting customers from diverse markets within the life sciences research and development and healthcare industries," said Dr. Chimera.
