Ideas competition for ecofriendly hotel catering for budget travellers. Entrants may choose their sites: choice of site, and architectural response to it, will be among criteria for judging the competition. Innovative thought is expected for providing simple, inexpensive accommodation. Climatic factors must be considered, and should influence the nature of indoor sheltered and outdoor spaces and the balance between these. The building should reflect local culture and context and the design should demonstrate clear principles of sustainability through choice of materials, management of energy and waste, climate modification, reusability.
