Commodore Cruise Line's Enchanted Isle Gets a Make-Over.

HOLLYWOOD, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 5, 1997--Commodore Cruise Line's classic vessel, the Enchanted Isle, has recently undergone a number of renovations to update and upgrade many of the popular ship's public areas, cabins, exteriors and operating systems.

Forty passenger cabins were fitted with double beds, and nine suites have been added. All of these cabins have been updated with new furnishings, carpet, drapes, bedspreads, wall coverings and bathroom tile. Two of the new suites are handicap accessible, and two have private balconies offering exceptional views.

The Enchanted Isle's Riviera Dining Room received a major face-lift, with the installation of new carpet, brighter lighting, new upholstery on dining room chairs, mirrored walls and artfully chosen silk flower arrangements to complete the decor.

The ship's informal dining area, the Bistro, now has a Caribbean feel, with the addition of coordinating chair coverings, window treatments and wallpaper, all done in a festive, teal-colored palate. A brand new stage, sound and lighting systems have been incorporated to facilitate additional night-time entertainment, and a Bistro Espresso Bar has been set up, serving a wide variety of caffe beverages.

At the heart of the Enchanted Isle, the Main Lounge was given a complete make-over, with seats being re-stuffed and re-upholstered, and brand new carpeting and wall coverings in warm gold and brown tones installed. The room's light and sound equipment has been upgraded, and the Main Lounge bar has been revamped in a contemporary fashion.

Always a favorite gathering place, the Spyglass Lounge now boasts newly upholstered chairs and matching window treatments and carpeting, as well as additional seating accommodations. Passengers can dance the night away in Neptune's Lounge which now has state-of-the-art light and sound equipment and all new chair, wall and floor coverings.

On the outer decks, the pool was re-tiled, new deck carpeting was installed and the ship's railings and exterior were freshly painted. Lifeboats were renovated and restocked, and two brand new towering stacks were put into place.

Behind the scenes, work was completed on the ship's air conditioning and heating system and insulation. In addition, the main galley was fitted with top-of-the line appliances and food preparation equipment to be utilized by the Enchanted Isle's acclaimed chefs.

Departing from the Port of New Orleans, Commodore's 7-night cruise onboard the Enchanted Isle sails to Montego Bay, Jamaica; Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands; Playa del Carmen and Cozumel, Mexico.
